|The IPI is held semi-annually each Spring and Autumn at Tokyo Big Sight [TOKYO, JAPAN], The show hosts 230 exhibiting companies, mainly manufactures and trading firms, and attracts approximately 50,000 buyers, such as corporate user, sales promotion agency, advertising agency, department store (institutional customer section) and wholesale/retail, making the IPI the nation’s largest trade fair specialized in the sales promotional products and marketing.|
|Trade Fair with the emphasis on making deals|
|As the show opens exclusively for trade buyers, the general public is not admitted. With admission being restricted to specialist buyers, business negotiation becomes more efficient and fruitful.
In visitor survey conducted during the last IPI, in reply to a questionnaire“Are you thinking of making deals with some of the companies at the Show?, 31.9% said “Yes” while 50.9% replied “yes, we ‘re looking into it” as shown in the pie graph. Thus more than 80% of the visitors found the products they’ve been looking for or worth taking a looking at.
|A wide range of the targeted exhibits|
|Let alone premium and novelty products, the targeted exhibits are varied such as over-the-counter decorative signage/display related, gift certificates, intangible merchandise, printing services, digital premium, etc. it is not too much to say that everything related to sales motion is here for the exhibits.|
|Visitors to the 55th IPI totaled 54,871. The Show brings together advertising agencies involved in premium incentive marketing, sales promotion agents, corporate’s sales promotion executives, department store and bulk-sales outlet, corporates' institutional customer section, direct gift sellers and other influential buyers.
The very powerful visitors promotion put in by the Show Organizer draws a line between IPI and other shows.
The Organizer sends out more than 300,000 invitation cards. On top of that, some 100,000 invitations are dispatched by exhibitors. Thus, a total of 400,000 invitations is actually sent out by post. This can have a big effect on visitor numbers and must certainly be a huge incetive for exhibiting companies.
